Pelvic Health

Pelvic Floor Physio

At 18 Physio, our physiotherapist has post-graduate training in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor muscle dysfunctions.

We understand the sensitive nature of this field of physiotherapy, and your concerns will always be managed with care and empathy.

The assessment will often include a pelvic floor muscle examination, to identify any changes to the muscles normal function or tone. This will allow for an individualised approach to treatment and target your needs.

At 18 Physio we are patient-centred, ensuring we are working together to reach your goals.

We commonly treat:

  • Radical prostatectomy patients (open and robotic).
  • Stress urinary incontinence (leakage with activity).
  • Bladder symptoms such as urgency, frequency and urge incontinence (leakage associated with an uncontrollable urge).
  • Difficulties emptying your bladder; such as hesitancy, dribbling afterwards and incomplete emptying.
  • Pelvic pain.
  • Sexual dysfunction.
  • Prolapse symptoms (feeling of a heaviness or bulge vaginally).
  • Bowel dysfunction; such as difficulty emptying and faecal incontinence.
