At 18 Physio, our team provides a compassionate and collaborative approach to care, combining clinical expertise with genuine empathy and a deep respect for each individual’s unique journey. We address a wide range of pelvic floor concerns (including bladder, bowel, prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual health, and pre/post-operative care), as well as musculoskeletal conditions (such as back, neck, ankle, and knee pain), and offer tailored performance and sports-specific rehabilitation.
Our team brings unique experience from years of working in both public and private maternity hospitals. This includes providing inpatient care on postnatal wards, guiding birth preparation, and delivering pre- and postnatal education sessions. This hands-on hospital experience enables us to offer evidence-based, holistic support throughout every stage of the pregnancy and postpartum journey.
Education is another part of our team’s unique experience. Several of our physiotherapists have taught pelvic health content at leading universities, including Swinburne, RMIT, and La Trobe. We’re passionate about contributing to the growth of the profession and ensuring the next generation of physiotherapists are confident in this important area of care. Our clinicians also regularly participate in ongoing professional development training, ensuring our treatments reflect current research and best practice.
We also bring a unique understanding of the physical demands of performing arts and elite movement. Members of our team have worked as physiotherapists in high-level theatre productions including The Wedding Singer, Hamilton, and at The National Theatre, as well as at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA). Others are performers themselves. This first-hand experience gives us a deep appreciation for the complexity of returning to performance, particularly postpartum or after injury, and allows us to develop truly individualised rehabilitation programs.
Our team is also actively involved in research, with ongoing projects focused on pelvic floor symptoms in performing artists and artistic athletes.
Above all, we’re committed to care that is patient-centred, respectful, and empowering. We take the time to listen and understand the full picture, working with you to create treatment plans that align with your goals, your lifestyle, and what matters most to you. Whether you’re seeking support during pregnancy, managing pelvic pain, preparing for a return to performance, or navigating prolapse or continence concerns, we’re here to help you move forward with confidence.
